INSTRUCTORS

TARA REID
, TCRG

Tara Reid is an accomplished teacher, choreographer, competitor and dancer. She had her first lesson at age 5, consistent lessons at age 8 and serious instruction at at age 13.

Her primary instruction was with the O'Riada Academy of Irish Dance in Kansas City and supplementary instruction with the Reid School in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Tara finished her competitive career as an open champion with 3 consecutive years ranked in the top 25 at the North American Nationals and a four time world qualifier. Tara was invited to Las Vegas in September of 2006 to dance professionally with Sin è Ri Ra, the house band in the Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York New York Hotel and Casino.

Her current passions include dancing for the pure enjoyment of it and teaching. Tara understands that everyone learns differently and is able to adapt her style to best suit the needs of the dancer. She brings enthusiasm and ten years of teaching experience to the Martin Percival School of Irish Dance.

SHELLEY LOCKLIER, TCRG

Hailing from Newcastle in the North East of England, Shelley discovered Irish dance on St. Patrick’s Day at the age of 8. Taking lessons at the Margaret Robinson School of Dance she found her passion for dance and all things Irish.

During her 10 year competitive career Shelley won many championships both locally and nationally and qualified for the World Championships for the first time at the age of 9.

At the age of 18 Shelley joined Lord of The Dance as part of the newly formed Troupe 3 .The troupe went on to become the first resident Irish Dance show in Las Vegas. Performing to “sold out” crowds for the next 6 years at New York New York and The Venetian, Shelley fell in love with performing and the bright lights of Vegas. Once she had taken her final bow on the Las Vegas stage, she took to the road with LOTD and toured Canada, Europe and South Africa but eventually ended up where it all began.

Now a permanent U.S. resident, Shelley has taken her passion for dance back to Vegas to the students of the Martin Percival School. Shelley particularly enjoys seeing beginner dancers develop and flourish to champions and watching the champions become the stars of tomorrow.
